Turning Anger into Power – ChickenSoup Foundation

May’s ex-husband had a severe gambling problem who even sold off their valuable possessions. May was left with emotional trauma, developing schizophrenia and suicidal thoughts. Moreover, she had to work three jobs a day while taking care of her daughter and ADHD son during the pandemic. With ChickenSoup’s support, May is now helping to manage the ChickenSoup Clubhouse and chef at community events.

“I look after my two children on my own since I gave birth to them. My daughter is now 11 years old, and my son is three years old! My kids have transformed from not knowing anything to now my son can eat on his own. There are many ups and downs and despite my kids misbehave sometimes, I am happy to be able to witness their growth.”
