FIC#53: Story of Holy and Her Family

Holy, a mother of three young children, suffered from borderline personality disorder (BPD) due to multiple sexual abuses in her early life. She got married at age 20 primarily to escape from her abusive family despite her husband’s drug addiction and violent parenting style.

In 3/2023, Holy was referred to CSF by the Social Welfare Department. Her case was complicated by her husband’s opposition in working with us. In late 2024 after 20 months with us, Holy stopped taking a cocktail of medications with a 14-year history and courageously initiated a divorce with her abusive husband.

Become a 'Proud' family

She now serves as our storyteller, supporting our social media function. Her wish is to write about the many ChickenSoup families to inspire vulnerable women in walking out of hardships. Her eldest daughter, after working with our therapist, showed improvement in managing her own BPD and is now pursuing her passion in acting and dancing with our scholarship.
