When Ms Lam’s ex-husband left the family and her daughter was diagnosed with severe Autism, Ms Lam suffered an emotional breakdown. She felt even more depressive and isolated when her daughter started to have frequent tantrums and outbursts. With ChickenSoup’s support, her daughter becomes more stable emotionally which allows the family to re-connect with the community.
FIC#034: Story of Ms Lam and Her Family
During the fifth wave of COVID, we recruited a group of brave volunteers from USRC Tigers RFC who have been so supportive and helped move Ms Lam into her new home.
As part of “Project Soul Relief,” Chef Vicky and his wife Polly hand delivered a homemade strawberry cake for Ms Lam’s daughter during a home visit to cheer up the family. Their heartwarming visit put a big smile on our family’s faces!
Ms Lam was interviewed by “City Focus” of Hong Kong Open TV to share her struggles looking after her daughter, who was diagnosed with autism, speech delay and social impairment.
